Feral Pig Control — Glass House Mountains, Beerwah & Peachester
PRS home base — macadamia orchards, timber country and lifestyle acreage
The Glass House Mountains area — Peachester, Beerburrum, Beerwah and surrounds — is where Peachester Rural Services is based and where we operate most regularly. Macadamia orchards are a significant land use in this area, and feral pig damage to macadamia rows is one of the most common problems we address. Timber production, cattle grazing and rural lifestyle blocks are also common, with pig activity impacting all property types.
Primary Pest Challenge
Feral Pigs in Macadamia Orchards
Macadamia orchards are particularly vulnerable — pigs root under trees to find fallen nuts, destroying root systems and compacting soil around the base. Rooting between rows damages irrigation infrastructure. A single mob can cause thousands of dollars of damage in one night.

Both species are present across the Glass House Mountains area. For lifestyle properties, free-range poultry operations and nature refuge holders, fox and cat control is an important management consideration alongside pig control.
Fox control details →Local Knowledge Advantage
As a Peachester-based operation, we know this country well. We understand the typical pig movement patterns between the D’Aguilar Range state forest and surrounding farmland, the drainage lines pigs follow into orchard country, and the conditions that push mobs into open pasture.
This area falls within Zone A — our base rate with no additional travel. Operations can generally be scheduled within 1–2 weeks of booking confirmation.
